Simply acknowledging someone with a smile or a hello as you pass by them can help some people to feel less invisible, especially if you can tell that they may not easily fit into regular society.
Pay for the person in line behind you at the drive thru at McDonald’s.
Tell a clerk how much you appreciate the good job they are doing.
Take an extra few minutes to chat with an elderly person, a recent widow or anyone who you think may be lonely.
